Police in Leesburg Charge New York Man in Commercial Burglary Investigation

Brayan Munevar VargasBrayan Munevar Vargas, 29, of New York, has been charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit larceny, wearing a mask to conceal his identity, and destruction of property. He remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond. The charges stem from an investigation into a commercial burglary that occurred at the Leesburg Best Buy early Sunday morning.
On July 17, 2022, shortly after 12:30 AM, the Leesburg Police Department received a report of a burglary in progress at Best Buy (609 Potomac Station Drive NE). Officers responded and detained an adult male, later identified as Munevar Vargas. At least one additional suspect fled on foot and was unable to be located. At this time, it appears that no merchandise was removed from the store, however, our detectives continue to work with the store to determine if anything was taken. The store suffered extensive damage as a result of the burglary.
The incident remains under investigation by the Leesburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Section. Anyone who has relevant information is asked to contact Detective M.
