The complainant was selling a sofa via Facebook marketplace and was contacted by an interested party, who offered more then the asking price, with the caveat the seller would cash the check and pay the moving company that was going to ship the sofa to the buyer. The buyer mailed the seller a cashier’s check, with a delivery address of an endodontist in New York City. Recognizing a scam, the seller ceased all communications with the “buyer”.
