Officers were advised of a resident who appeared to be growing marijuana plants on his property. Officers responded and viewed from the roadway, what appeared to be, four marijuana plants on the side of the residence. Contact was made with the homeowner who took ownership of the plants. The owner was advised, that although Virginia law allows for the cultivation of up to four marijuana plants, they must not be visible from public view, not accessible by persons younger than 21 years of age, and must be labeled as marijuana plants. The owner remedied the issues by removing the plants.
