Deputies responded to a residence where a subject was armed with a knife and had threatened the other occupants of the home. As deputies arrived, they found the subject outside at the top of the front stairs. He was holding a large butcher knife and another knife. As deputies certified in Crisis Intervention Training began conversing with the subject, additional LCSO Deputies made contact with six other occupants, including four juveniles, at the rear of the home. The deputies utilized a ladder from a neighbor’s house to safely remove them from the home. Deputies continued to converse with the man for a period of time and he was ordered to drop the knives several times. He ultimately complied and was taken into custody without further incident. It was determined the subject, Geraldo E. Martinez, 21, of Sterling, was involved in an altercation with a roommate. The subject grabbed a knife and cut the roommate and threatened the other residents. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries during the incident. Martinez was charged with Malicious Wounding and six counts of Abduction. He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
