Leesburg, VA (October, 20, 2022) – The Leesburg Police Department Traffic Management Unit (TMU) is investigating a serious crash that occurred yesterday evening.
On October 19, 2022, shortly after 10:34 PM, Leesburg Police Dispatchers received reports of a crash in the area of Edwards Ferry Road NE and Heritage Way NE involving an adult male pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle. The adult male suffered serious injuries and was transported to INOVA Loudoun Hospital, the Lansdowne Campus, where he is reported in stable condition.
The preliminary investigation determined that the vehicle was being driven eastbound on Edwards Ferry Road by an adult female when the pedestrian crossed Edwards Ferry Road heading southbound on Heritage Way NE. The vehicle struck the pedestrian. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The Leesburg Police Department would like to thank the Virginia State Police and Loudoun County Fire & Rescue for their assistance in investigating the crash.
