The manager at Dollar Tree reported that he observed three teenage girls 16, 15, and 14, steal candy and snacks from the store. He followed them to Walgreens, where they stole cosmetics. Police arrived on the scene and spoke to the girls who denied stealing items. The 15 and 14-year old were siblings and their mother was called and responded to the scene. Upon her arrival, the stolen items were recovered in their backpacks. They were released into her custody. Unable to reach the parents of the 16-year-old, police drove her to her residence, where they spoke with her parents; once again, stolen items were recovered. All the recovered property was returned by police to Dollar Tree and Walgreens. Both stores declined prosecution in lieu of the administration of parental justice.
