A deputy witnessed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed (57 in a 35 mph zone). The deputy initiated his emergency equipment and the driver failed to stop. The driver struck a mailbox in the process of fleeing. The driver turned into a dead-end street and eventually stopped. The driver of the vehicle, Jairo Pineda Medina, 25 of Sterling was charged with Eluding Police, Hit and Run, Driving Without a License, and Speeding. Medina was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he was released on an unsecured bond.
