The complainant was backing out of a spot and was hit by an on-coming vehicle. The driver of the other car did not stop and fled from the shopping center. A witness captured the tag number of the suspect vehicle, which was registered to a location in Loudoun County. A deputy responded to the location and spoke to a resident and shortly thereafter, the investigating officer received a call from the driver of the suspect vehicle. The driver reported fleeing because she had issues with her driver’s license. She provided her insurance information. The victim was satisfied and did not desire criminal prosecution for the hit-and-run. The investigating officer obtained a summons for reckless driving, which was served on the driver on 4/29/23.
