While conducting traffic control for a different incident, an officer observed a pick-up truck approaching the four-way stop at a high rate of speed, showing no inclination to stop. Strong and loud verbal commands resulted in an abrupt stop prior to additional carnage. As the officer approached, he noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver. Ultimately, the driver failed a battery of sobriety tests and was arrested. He was transported to the Adult Detention Center, where his breath was tested, resulting in a BAC of .19. He was ordered to be held until sober.
