Deputies were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and found the driver to be driving under the influence. Modesto A. Benitez, 38 of Sterling was charged with Driving while intoxicated subsequent offense, Driving after forfeiture of license, Drinking while operating a motor vehicle, Driving without license, Stopping on a highway, and illegal use of defective equipment. Benitez was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
