A deputy initiated a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign. During the stop, the driver of the vehicle exited the vehicle and ran away from the deputy. A foot-chase ensued and the deputy apprehended the driver a short time later. Ronneil Cortes Evangelista, 26, of Sterling was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (2nd offense), Resist or Hindering Deputy Sheriff, Fleeing & Eluding, Driving after Forfeiture of License, and Failure to Stop at Stop Sign. Evangelista was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he was released on a $3,000 bond.
