A deputy on patrol observed a vehicle traveling without taillights. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and observed signs of impairment. During the interaction, the driver of the vehicle ran from the scene. Deputies were able to locate the driver a short distance away. When they placed him under arrest the driver began actively resisting the deputy’s efforts. Marco A. Filippini, 38 of Sterling was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (2nd offense), Obstructing Justice, Driving after Forfeiture of License, and Eluding. Filippini was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
