Domestic Assault and Discharging a Firearm: 700 Block of Sunflower Court Purcellville VA

Police responded to a reported domestic assault involving a married couple and determined that following an argument that turned physical between a husband and wife, the husband entered his home and discharged a firearm in the direction of the rear kitchen door. The wife and the husband’s son were behind the shooter at the time the weapon was discharged. The son took the weapon from his father, and a subsequent struggle resulted in which the father assaulted the son. The bullet traveled through the wall and lodged stuck in the siding in the rear of the home behind the suspect’s residence. The bullet did not enter the occupied dwelling. The wife left the residence prior to police arrival. The father was charged with domestic assault upon the son and unlawful discharge of a firearm. He was held without bond. The wife contacted police by phone at approximately 3:00 a.m. It was determined that she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court. She was arrested on the morning of May 14th and transported to the adult detention center.
