Deputy Struck in Hit and Run Incident Near Sterling

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate the driver of a vehicle after he sideswiped a deputy who was working traffic enforcement in the Sterling area.

The hit and run occurred shortly before 11 a.m. this morning in the area of S. Cottage Road and Lindsay Court. The deputy, a member of the agency’s Motor Unit, was running RADAR in the area and was signaling the driver to pull over. The driver appeared to be coming to a stop before he sped up and struck the deputy. The deputy suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

The driver is described as a Black male and was wearing a black knit cap. The vehicle has Ohio license plates and described as a dark gray sedan, possibly a Honda or Toyota, and may have damage to the bumper and passenger side of the vehicle.
