Computer Crimes: Loudoun County VA

After an investigation by LCSO Detectives with the Special Victims Unit and Financial Crimes Unit, Shane L. Pearson, 31, of Sterling was indicted this week by a Loudoun County Grand Jury and charged with multiple counts of computer crimes. The investigation stemmed from two initial complainants reporting that they sent photos to an unknown person they met through online apps. The person then demanded additional photos, sexual favors, or money or the photos would be distributed. As detectives continued the investigation, other victims, including juveniles, were identified as well as child pornography. Through the course of the investigation, including multiple search warrants, Pearson was identified as the suspect.

The direct indictment charged Pearson with the following:

  • Two Counts: Computer Solicitation (under the age of 15 – felony)
  • Two Counts: Produce / Make Child Pornography (under the age of 15 – felony)
  • Two Counts: Possession of Child Pornography (felony)
  • One Count: Extortion (felony)
  • Five Counts Coerce, Intimidate or Harass Person by Computer (misdemeanor)

Pearson was arrested on June 14 and transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he is being held on no bond.
