One of the suspects charged last week in a reported assault by mob incident was determined to have provided false identification to law enforcement during the course of his arrest. The subject initially identified himself as Gregory Knight. He was later identified to be Craig James Knight, 26, of Alexandria. Knight has been charged additionally with Providing False Identification to Law Enforcement and five counts of Forging Public Records. Knight remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond. The arrest stems from reports of a fight involving numerous individuals on January 30, 2020. During the investigation it was determined that a male and a female were assaulted by five suspects, some of whom were known to them. The five suspects included four adults and one juvenile. The victims sustained minor injuries. The five suspects attempted to flee the area in a vehicle but were located by responding deputies. Sonny D, Alston, 20, of Herndon, Janet Alston, 21, of Centreville, Darby Macon Jr, 20, of Chantilly, and Knight were each charged with two counts of Malicious Wounding by Mob and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Malicious Wounding by Mob. All four subjects remain held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond. As the fifth suspect is a juvenile their information cannot be released.
