Deputies responded to a report of a female assaulted by a person known to her. Upon arrival, they located a male inside the residence who refused to obey their commands. The male actively resisted their efforts to detain him. Cornell Smith, 40 of Ashburn was charged with two counts of Assault and Obstructing Justice. Smith was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he is being held on a $5,000 bond.
