Ashburn Homicide Suspect Surrenders to Loudoun County Authorities

In a significant development in a high-profile case that has gripped the community of Ashburn, Loudoun County, the local Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Rashaun D. Owens. On the afternoon of February 26, 2024, Owens voluntarily surrendered to authorities at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, bringing a pivotal turn to the investigation of a tragic incident that occurred earlier this month.

Owens faces serious charges, including 2nd Degree Murder, the Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and Attempted Robbery with a Firearm. These charges stem from the events of February 14, 2024, when Michai Dandridge-Carter, a 19-year-old resident of Sterling, was found with a fatal gunshot wound in Ashburn. Dandridge-Carter was pronounced dead at the scene, marking a somber moment for the community and prompting an intensive investigation by local law enforcement.
