Armed Robbery in Ashburn Leads to Arrest by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office

Deandre TyerAshburn, VA, September 19, 2023 – Authorities in Loudoun County have apprehended a man believed to be responsible for an armed robbery at an Ashburn-based 7-Eleven store.

Around 11:08 p.m. on the prior evening, deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 7-Eleven at 21880 Ryan Center Way following reports of an armed incident. The initial findings suggest that a male assailant entered the premises, brandished a handgun, and made away with an unspecified number of items. The suspect then allegedly made his escape on foot.

Not long after, the authorities were able to track down the man in the parking structure of the Ashburn Metro Station, leading to his arrest.

The individual, identified as Deandre G. Tyer, 29, who reportedly has no permanent residence, is now facing multiple charges. These include Armed Robbery, Firearm Use in the Commitment of a Felony, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Destruction of a Phone Line with the Purpose to Inhibit a Law Enforcement Call, Weapon Brandishing, and Larceny.

Currently, Tyer is in custody at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he has been denied bond.
